PMX CosFest Masquerade [2015]

Hadn’t taken in a CosFest Masquerade at PMX in ages, so decided to check it out on Day 2 of PMX 2015 with my friends.

Pretty sure this girl from the Kamen Rider group is the same girl as the one in blue at the PMX/Infotakus Cosplay Runway Show held during the Cherry Blossom Festival in April!

Takeriya Samurai cosplays from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Robot Unichuck Cosplay did a dance performance.

Chibi Cosplay did a Miku dance!

Not sure what this is from, but it was pretty awesome!

Sparkle Raptors also did a dance performance.

This League of Legends cosplayer’s martial arts skills were great!

The emcee was surprised when a staffer came up to announce that it was his birthday.

These Monster Hunter cosplays were impressive!

While I do list the winners in the Facebook album (since they were listed on the PMX website, lol), I can’t place a lot of the entries. Feel free to help identify cosplayers, characters, and origins!

Ahri Indoors Photoshoot [2013]

The second of my three shoots on Day 2 of Fanime 2013 was also my second with Sylpharios and her Ahri cosplay from League of Legends!

In the late evening after the madness of the EVA cockpit and hanging out with my friend Hikari Twinkle, I wound up in Sylpharios’ room with Sojian. ^^; As usual, I was able to learn a lot just by watching Sojian work, and he was gracious enough to let me steal some shots!

One of the few shots in the bedroom that came out decent. ^^;

The balloons reflected red everywhere, but too full of hnnng not to use!

Dem bedroom eyes… in the bathtub, lol.

This is a pose I never would’ve been able to come up with. Sojian is a master!

So pretty~!

I had much better luck getting decent photos in the bathroom since it was so well lit, but the colors were off a bit. Tried fixing them the best I could!

Ahri Outdoors Photoshoot [2013]

My second shoot of this year’s Fanime was the first of Day 1 and the first of three(!) that I had the honor of doing with Sylpharios!

After we’d gotten our badges, we planned to meet up later in the day for a shoot of Sylpharios’ Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox, from League of Legends. The sun was well-behaved and Sylpharios was gorgeous as always, so the hardest part was getting her in focus (and if you’ve been following my work, you know that’s easier said than done)!

I don’t play League of Legends, so I didn’t know the character at all. Good thing Sylpharios only cosplays characters she’s played!

Her contacts were amazing and I’m really happy they showed up so well!

As revealed during our last shoot (which was of Zatanna), Sylpharios is rather tall! She had to kneel down and I got up on a bench to get this shot!

Sylpharios had a bag of these balloons and kept giving them away to strangers; many a day was brightened! 🙂

Bawwww, so forlorn. :< I really like the way the wind is blowing her hair a little bit.

So lovely!

FanimeCon 2013, Day 2

Kicked off Day 2 of FanimeCon 2013 with a stop in the gaming room before grabbing noms at Hoagie Steak Out!

A game of Jenga comes to its inevitable conclusion.

My friend tried the Gangnam Style and he said it was like a dance in his mouth, lol.

Ran into some friends who were cosplaying from Psycho-Pass on the way back to con.

This cosplay from One Piece towered above everyone!

Checked out the EVA cockpit and quickly stopped by the insane LoL Gathering before catching the last half of the “Perfect Combo: Omori/Sato” panel featuring GOHs Takahiro Omori and Yumi Sato. They worked on Baccano! and Durarara!!, among other anime series.

Afterwards, I ran into Pink Bunnie and friends on the way to a photoshoot with my friend Paprika Mari (photoshoot coming soon)!

I returned to the convention center after the shoot and found this awesome Mortal Kombat cosplayer. I’m heavily tempted to bluescreen in a background, lol.

I always see this keyboard-playing character, and I finally found out it’s the Arcade version of Sona Buvelle, Maven of the Strings, from League of Legends! Here she is with other characters from the game.

Didn’t get to really shoot with Hikari Twinkle b/c I got distracted by the EVA cockpit again, but glad I got a couple of shots, at least!

Don’t watch Teen Titans, but this cosplay was pretty cool!

Ran into peppymiint cosplay on my way to dinner!

Haha, I used to love these guys on Sesame Street!

Afterwards, I managed to tag along to another shoot of Sylpharios’ Ahri before joining in on my third shoot of the day with some new friends later that night (shoots coming soon). Busy day!
