My friends at Ninja-Con and the Tokari Maids teamed up with the makers of Skullgirls to hold the first Skullgirls Fan Expo in Long Beach!

Several new characters were unveiled during the final rounds of the tournament. They were so new that they were basically rough pencil sketches!

Yes, the event was definitely for the fans, with exclusive t-shirts, a cosplay contest, a sneak peek at new playable characters, and an autograph session featuring the voice cast of the game. What a great sense of community as attendees donated as much or as little as they wanted in order to attend and support the makers of the game! Pokemon Tokari League [Aug 2013]

It doesn’t seem right to say it when I still have events from 2013 to recap, but Happy New Year! xD

Ninja-Con‘s Tokari Maids held their own stand-alone event at the end of August!

The Pokemon Tokari League took place at the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach (the same venue where Tokyo Status originally launched)!

This Pokemon-themed event featured food, games, performances from the Tokari Maids and guest performer Paprika Mari, and a special guest Champion — voice actor and singer Machii Valentine!

Tokyo Status Farewell to Long Beach Ver. [Jul 2013]

With this sixth post, The Twelve Posts of Christmas is already half over!

It didn’t seem that long ago that Tokyo Status first launched, and already it’s making the leap to Little Tokyo!

Despite waiting until the last minute to take care of some writing and art show (album here!) stuffs, was able to make it down for the last hour of Tokyo Status’ final Long Beach-based event, which happened to feature a performance by Midnight Shinigami and a celebration for Stewardess Stephanie’s birthday!

I only got to catch a couple of songs since I arrived so late, but I still got my own personal serenade from Mynx Midnight! 😉

Tokyo Status Maiden Voyage! [May 2013]

Ray of Lolita Dark Presents TOKYO STATUS with Cultural Alliance of Long Beach!!

Tokyo Status launched its maiden voyage in May with karaoke battles, a dolldelight fashion show, three bands, and more! Unfortunately, it was rather dark and I don’t do flash, so excuse the blurry, grainy, and weirdly-lit photos (especially those taken during the fashion show OTL).

Apocalipstick was the first band to take the stage. Their blend of punk rock and girl power was awesome!

Lolita Dark was the next to play. I really enjoyed their jrock-inspired sound!

dolldelight held a fashion show as part of the event!

The last band up was Psycho Bando. They had a couple of different guest singers, one of whom killed it during the karaoke battle!
