Robo Toy Fest × Brick Boutique [May 2014]

Popped in for a quick peek at Robo Toy Fest and Brick Boutique in Pasadena! They charge for admission when the show opens now, but in the late afternoon you can still check it out for free (children are always admitted free).

It’s not just Legos and robots at this blended convention; a wild Pikachu also appeared!

Some cool movie memorabilia for sale.

Lots of art books on display.

Lots of series and franchises represented; how many different robot shows could there possible be? LOL

So many kaiju (monsters)!

Comic book artist and writer Tone Rodriguez (The Simpsons Comics, Futurama Comics) also likes building blocks, apparently!

Constant fixture Tsuyoshi Nonaka (mechanical designer of Super Sentai and Power Ranger toys) holds court at his usual table.

The convention continues to be very kid- and family-friendly, and this time they even had a building contest complete with Display Area!

Looks like a typo on that box for the Super Dimensional Fortress… or else it’s just a Chinese variant. 😉

Always fun to look at great toys and happy to see that this double-con continues to grow! See the full album on my Fan Page on Facebook and check out The Vault on Facebook, where I’ve been posting events from 2009! 😀
