When a friend of mine mentioned that the latest movie was playing at the Downtown Independent, I jumped at the chance to go check it out on opening night!
Since I got there after work, it was almost show time and I only managed to get these two cosplayers beforehand because everyone else was already seated.
Anime Jungle was there selling LA screening exclusives as usual.
You can cosplay as Kotetsu!
I really wish they’d give away full-sized posters like they did for the first Madoka films, but they only raffle them off now.
Managed to catch this awesome Lunatic cosplayer after the film!
Kotetsu and Barnaby seem to be the favorites among cosplayers, but there was much cheering for each of the heroes (and even Hero TV producer Agnes Joubert) as they made their first on-screen appearances during the film!
These were the freebies they gave out with admission: 11″x14″ mini poster; a clear file folder; and a postcard promoting Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira, Memories, Steamboy)’s compilation film Short Peace, the next anime film that Eleven Arts will be releasing.
It’s always fun to watch a good movie with an enthusiastic crowd — and the crowd was certainly vocal in their enjoyment! Hoping there will be more entries in this film series, if not another season! As always, more in the album on my Facebook Page!
