I don’t really update here as often as I’d like, so you’d probably be better served by following my Twitter or by adding me on Facebook if you’d like more timely updates. But in any case, that’s not why this headline grabbed you, so on to the deals!
For those of you who don’t live in the States, this past Thursday was Thanksgiving, which is a national day of… well, thanksgiving. Or used to be, at least. Now that we’re a God-less nation, it’s become a national day of football; parades with giant balloons; food comas; and long, snaking lines at midnight in the blistering cold.
That’s because the day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday, the first day of the year when retailers finally enter “the black”, as it were. It’s the first shopping day of the holiday season and is traditionally when shops and businesses catering to the general public turn a profit. To spur spending, great deals can be had if you are willing to forgo sleep and warmth by camping out in parking lots in the early hours before stores open.
Of course, with the advent of computers and Cyber Monday (an on-line alternative to Black Friday), you can now do bargain shopping from the comfort of your own home!
Japanese e-tailer HLJ.com got into the act by running a Black Friday only sale. Unfortunately, it’s over already. 😦
And if you’re in the Huntington Beach area, drop by Anime King for their incredible 30% off (10% off Gundam) Black Friday Sale through Sunday!
